“All of us who professionally use the mass media are the shapers of society. We can vulgarize that society. We can brutalize it. Or we can help lift it onto a higher level.”
William Bernbach (1911-1982)
My mission is to document stories and bring visibility to underrepresented people who most often go unnoticed by the mainstream media. As a social activist and documentary filmmaker, I have been covering the effects of our country’s economic collapse on its citizens since January 2011.
#OCCUPYOURHOMES - "Homeowners Speak Out"
I created videos about Bloombergville and Occupy Wall Street (featured on MoveOn and Huffington Post), the lockout of union workers at Sotheby’s Auction House (Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Museums), anti-foreclosure sit-ins (Occupy Our Homes) where homeowners refused to leave their homes and most recently I interviewed students about the trillion-dollar student debt crisis during Barack Obama’s graduation speech at Barnard College for United New York, a non-profit organization.

My work has been screened at documentary film festivals and featured on websites such as the New York Daily News, The Blaze, Current TV, Huffington Post, MoveOn and many others.
I also do livestream web news on U-Stream, most recently covering the protest organized by hospital workers against the closure of Wyckoff Hospital in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
BREAK THE NEWS(L!VE)
Unfortunately for activist filmmakers, many of these media outlets do not have the financial resources to support the work that we do and for this reason, I am asking for your participation in building and maintaining awareness, documenting and encouraging activism, and empowering people who feel disempowered to speak and tell their stories.
Killed By NYPD – Tamon Robinson’s Family Speaks Out
My passion is to tell these stories and use them to inspire others. Although we are all interested in change, not all of us have the time or ability to attend countless rallies and protests. Thanks to WePay, you can use your resources to support work like mine and be an integral partner in creating positive change in the world. Sometimes a donation can make more of a difference than a vote, a sign, or a chant. These stories are important and powerful and by getting them out into the world, we reclaim the concept of a public media, one that speaks for and to our citizenry, free of corporate influence.
Costs of production include video memory cards, hard drives, web hosting services, camera and/or sound equipment repair and transportation. All of your donation money will go directly towards production costs for my work – none of it goes in my pocket.
