The trip began around 1978...four friends got together to make music and have a great time. They were a bit out of the mainstream, fueled by the infuence of the Grateful Dead and others of the Psychedelic era. They clicked! Since birds of a feather seem to flock together, the scene grew. They infused their own original material into the Dead genre, making it "Trippy" for themselves and their family of friends. Over the decades, The Spirtles morphed into a dynamic musical family, playing packed shows, locally, regionally and, on occasion, the West coast. The love they encountered was amazing. The original line up was James Booth, Rick Freeman, Joseph Huber, and Tim Cooper. The family grew from there to include some great musicians and wonderful people.
Opening for The Spirtles will be Joseph Huber and Jim Callahan followed by Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett. James Booth and Rick Freeman will start the main show, eventualy joined by the rhythm section of The Spirtles, Keith Yount, Joe O'Connell, and Russ Levitt. Special guests include Jim Curry, among other amazing players!
This is a rare and wonderful treat for those who were part of the scene years ago and those wanting to discover what it is all about. Once in a while, there is a musical experience that is just too compelling...This is it!
