You've seen the movie Amadeus. Now, allow Marin Alsop to reveal the human face of the genius behind W.A. Mozart, who wrote approximately 1,000 pieces in his 35 short years! CSI: Mozart is a symphonic stage show in two acts featuring a theatrical cast and tackling the composer's private life and struggles, the mystery of his death and his prolific final year.
This concert, part of the more informal Off the Cuff series, showcases maestra Marin Alsop’s incredible ability to engage and entertain audiences. By divulging the social, historical and musical context of the piece as well as demonstrating excerpts, Maestra Alsop makes classical music accessible to those unacquainted and challenges more expert audiences to approach familiar pieces from new perspectives.
Join us for an exhilarating evening of wonderful music followed by a dinner reception at the Meyerhoff!
