"I never associated books with fun. I didn't realize that my children would enjoy reading with me so much." (Gordon, Turning Pages participant, father of two)
"I thought this would be boring, but tonight was the funnest time I ever had." (Kevin, 11-yr old son)
"I'm inspired to continue the special moments of reading with my kids that Turning Pages has given me and my family when I get home." (Timothy, father of four)
Since Fall, 2009:
42 inmates and their 82 children shared special reading-together moments.
Over 800 books have been given to the Turning Pages families.
KEEP THE PAGES TURNING IN 2012:
$ 1000 buys books, and literacy activity supplies for each 8-week session.
$ 3000 will purchase recording equipment so incarcerated parents who can't be with their children can record books onto CDs for their children... a new Turning Pages program.
$ 5200 provides the Program Director's stipend for the year.
Many Thanks for your fiscal and spiritual support!
The Families and Volunteers of Turning Pages wish you a Peace-filled Holiday and New Year!!
