On April 9th, Mo Kessler and Chris Stella took action in solidarity with a family in Raleigh who decided to stand up to the banks! Faced with an illegal foreclosure process that culminated with an eviction notice, the family refused to give their home over to the bank without a fight.
In spite of the peaceful and congenial nature of this action, police officers, complete with a SWAT team, chose to side with the banks – forcing all the activists and community members present off the property. Along with five other activists, Mo and Chris refused to leave the property and were arrested. Mo and Chris have been convicted of Tresspassing II, and both face legal fees of $800 each. Now it’s our turn to support them!
