May Day is Coming!
Occupy Wall Street is about to enter Phase Two. As we prepare to take to the streets in our most massive Day of Action yet, we stand poised for a pivotal shift in the direction of the movement.
For the past four months, much of our energy at Occupy Wall Street has been devoted to preparing for a historic May Day: No Work! No School! No Shopping! No Banking! Take The Streets! Enjoy the day off work or school. If you hate what you do, don't do it. If you love what you do, do it in the streets and give freely. May Day will be the biggest mobilization in the history of OWS - the culmination of our Spring Offensive against the 1%, and the kickoff for what promises to be a truly transformative Summer.
The most important way you can show your support is by joining us in the streets on May Day! But we also need financial and material resources to produce materials and to support actions. Please donate, now is the time to strike!

May Day, also know as International Worker's Day, is observed throughout the of the world as a way to honor the struggles of all working people across history. While this tradition began in the United States, the day is unfamiliar to many Americans and is not officially observed as a holiday. May Day was reclaimed in the United States by immigrant workers in 2006, when they mobilized by the millions to fight for their rights.
May Day 2012 in New York City begins bright and early at 8 AM, with a pop-up occupation at Bryant Park with mutual aid, art, music, food, speak-outs, teach-ins, legal & medical support, and more! Bryant Park will also be the hub for The 99 Pickets, a series of shutdown actions targeting sites of corporate power throughout Midtown Manhattan. At 2 PM, we will march to Union Square and join our allies in an unprecedented coalition of activists, Labor Unions, Workers, Immigrants Rights Groups, and Community & Faith Based Organizations in a historic rally at 4 PM. The rally will include performances by artists including Tom Morello, Ben Harper, Dan Deacon, Immortal Technique, and the New York Labor Chorus. At 5:30, we will march together to Wall Street as a show of the solidarity of the 99%.
May Day is a critical moment that will energize the movement, engage with the people of New York, and to imagine alternatives to the current system. Please support May Day through your presence in the streets and your material support.
Let Freedom Spring!
