Since January 2010, Michael Warren, 38 of Wilton, Maine has been fighting for his life against stage 4 Colon Cancer. Now 2 ½ years later, Michael has entered remission and is trying to regain the life he once had with his family and community. Michaels wife, Jennifer (34), and 2 children Johnathan (12), and Mikayla (9) have been devastated with the ever lasting struggle to resume a normal life as an ordinary family.
It all started in January 2010 when Michael experienced uncommon pain, bleeding, weight loss, and a off blood count. It wasn't until October 2010 when a colonoscopy was done and Stage 4 Colon Cancer was detected. Michaels first surgery to remove the cancerous tumor was done only a few weeks later, followed by chemotherapy treatments 5 days a week, for 3 months. Michael was finally in remission and his family could take a deep breath.
May 2011 Michael experienced more pain and bleeding. Another tumor was found bringing life changing news that his cancer was back and had escalated into Stage 4 Colon Cancer. In short notice Jennifer, Michaels wife was forced to put her job on hold, pack up their house, and relocate to Boston for 6 weeks to support Michael during his surgery at Mass General Hospital, where they removed all of the cancerous tumors, his colon, and large intestine, to be replaced with a permanent colostomy.
Michael and Jennifer returned home in September 2011 to start his recovery. He resumed chemotherapy treatments for the next 12 weeks. It wasn't until this time that Jennifer found out that she had lost her job completely and was left not only taking care of Michael full time, but looking for a job to keep their house and family together. The bills were piling up.
March 2011, Michaels doctor announced that he was in remission for the 2nd time. Although this is a very happy time in their lives, they were quickly taken back when they had a knock at the door and were presented with a foreclosure notice on their house. They were denied loans and assistance from the State of Maine as well as having their insurance completely taken away from them.
In July of 2012 Michael and his family were presented the news that another growth had been spotted in his lower abdomen. Both tumors were recently removed by laser and sent away for testing.
Michael and his family are doing everything they can to make ends meet, get back on their feet and to pay the huge medical bills that keep piling up. Jennifer has recently found a job and is working as much as she can. Michael cannot work and is being helped by Johnathan and Mikayla while school is out.
Michael has served his community for 24 years being a volunteer firefighter, as well as a former Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, and E-911 Dispatcher. Now it is our turn to serve him!
This family needs the help and support of this community in getting back on their feet, paying medical bills, house payments, and other necessities. Any donations would be GREATLY appreciated in helping the Warren Family.
Even donating $1 will make a huge difference to Michael's Life!
Thank you so much for your support!
