This is a story about what one Philadelphia city block can do to change its future. Be a part of building the foundation for a community on the rise and join with West Rockland Street, a 1-block residential street in Northwest Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood.
On West Rockland Street, we face big-time challenges and strive for sustainable, longterm results. We build community and create change you can see through creative urban interventions. The West Rockland Street Project documents our citizen-driven effort to improve quality of life on a single city block. Here we serve up an example of just how far sweat equity and back to basics organizing, citizen engagement, and a do-it-yourself spirit can take one community. This is a project being undertaken by citizens of Philadelphia for the betterment and growth of the city, spearheaded by Aine and Emaleigh Doley, sisters and longtime West Rockland Street residents.
All gifts – no matter what size – are welcome and will be acknowledged. 100% of all financial contributions will go towards the betterment of the block – through plants and flowers, tools for projects, cleanup supplies, paint, children's activities, educational materials and more.
